Sending a large video or folder from your Mac to your Android phone shouldn't require a USB cable, a driver, or a cloud upload. With Seyfr, you just install the app on both devices and transfer wirelessly.

Why Not AirDrop?
AirDrop only works between Apple devices — iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Android phones are not supported. If you need to send a file from your Mac to an Android phone, AirDrop simply doesn't work. Seyfr fills exactly this gap: it works like AirDrop but between Mac and Android.
Why Not OpenMTP?
OpenMTP is excellent for USB-based transfers — it's the best replacement for the discontinued Android File Transfer app. But it requires a USB cable and your Android set to "File Transfer" mode. If you don't have a cable handy, or you want to send files to someone else's Android remotely, OpenMTP can't help. Seyfr is wireless.
Why Not LocalSend?
LocalSend and SEYFR offer different workflows. Check LocalSend's current documentation for its network options. With SEYFR, an encrypted relay helps the devices connect across local or different networks, then steps back when a direct path works. If no direct path can be established, it forwards the end-to-end encrypted transfer instead.
Sending Large Files — 4K Video, Big Folders
SEYFR does not impose a fixed transfer-size cap, but available storage and platform limits still apply. Transfer time depends on the devices, network path, relay use and connection quality.
You can also send entire folders. Seyfr preserves the folder structure on the receiving Android device.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I send large files from Mac to Android without USB?
Use Seyfr. Install the Seyfr app on both your Android phone and Mac. Open Seyfr on your Mac, select Send, and drag your files. On your Android phone, select Receive, scan the QR code (or paste the token), and click Receive. Send the file that every other app says is "too large." Stop uploading your own files just to download them again.
Do I need to install Seyfr on my Mac to send files?
Yes. Seyfr is a native app-to-app file transfer tool. You install the Seyfr app from Google Play on your Android phone and from the Mac App Store on your Mac. This provides the most reliable peer-to-peer file transfers and maximum security.
Does Mac to Android file transfer require the same Wi-Fi network?
No. Your devices don't have to be on the same Wi-Fi — for example, your Mac on home Wi-Fi and the Android on mobile data. Seyfr uses peer-to-peer hole-punching to connect across networks.
How do I transfer a 4K video from Mac to Android?
Open Seyfr on your Mac, select Send, and drag the video file. On your Android phone, select the Receive menu and scan the QR code (or paste the token). The video transfers using peer-to-peer networking and arrives at full quality — without intentional recompression.
Is Seyfr free for Mac to Android transfers?
Yes. Current transfer features are free to use today. The core has no fixed transfer-size cap, but device and platform limits apply.
Does Seyfr work on macOS Sequoia / M3 Mac?
Yes. Seyfr has a native macOS app that is fully compatible with macOS Sequoia, M1/M2/M3/M4 Apple Silicon Macs, and older Intel Macs.
