Privacy Policy
SEYFR is a peer-to-peer file-transfer application built for direct peer-to-peer file transfer. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices when you install and use the SEYFR mobile and desktop applications.
1. Data Collection & Storage
SEYFR uses peer-to-peer networking to connect devices:
- No SEYFR File Storage: JITPOMI does not provide cloud storage for transferred files. SEYFR connects your devices directly with end-to-end encryption. Your files move straight from device to device without uploading to cloud storage.
- Local Storage: Any files you receive are stored strictly on your own device—either in the app itself or in the folders you choose.
- No Account Required: SEYFR does not require you to sign up. We don't ask for your name, email, phone number, or password.
2. Network & Connections
To link your devices, SEYFR uses QR codes or transfer tokens:
- Encryption: File content is end-to-end encrypted in transit. All file content is end-to-end encrypted directly between devices.
- Relay Infrastructure: Relays help devices exchange network information and establish a direct path. Once that path works, the relay steps back. If a direct path cannot be established, the relay forwards the end-to-end encrypted transfer. It cannot read the file and does not store it, but its operator can still observe connection metadata such as IP addresses, connection times, and the amount of relayed data.
- Direct Connections: When devices connect directly, the peers exchange network-address information, including IP addresses, as part of making the connection.
- Transfer Tokens: The QR code or token contains secure connection information for the transfer. It contains no file bytes or file metadata. Think of it as a map plus a fingerprint, not the package. Treat it as sensitive and share it only with the intended receiver. It can be reused while the sender remains reachable and the content remains available.
3. Device Permissions
- Camera Access: We only ask for camera access so you can scan QR codes to connect your devices. SEYFR never uploads or shares your camera feeds.
- Storage Access: We only ask to access your files so we can send the ones you choose and save the ones you receive.
4. Third-Party Services
SEYFR includes optional public donation/monetization instructions for supporting development (via Mercury Bank and Venmo). We do not collect banking details, credit card numbers, or transactional analytics from your donations.
The public SEYFR website uses Google Analytics to measure visits and store-link clicks. This website measurement is separate from file-transfer content and is governed by Google's terms and privacy practices.
The Android app may read Google Play's install-referrer data once after installation to determine which SEYFR campaign link led to the install. SEYFR records the matching campaign, Play-provided click and install times, and installed app version. This measurement does not include an advertising identifier, account identity, file names, file contents, or transfer activity.
